Supported Formats
aptura.io translates professional design and document formats while preserving your original formatting. Upload a file on the website or use a plugin to translate directly inside your design application.
Photoshop (.psd, .psb)
Translates all editable text layers — both point text and area text — while preserving layer structure, effects, blend modes, smart objects, and layer styles. Text inside smart objects is also translated.
When you open the translated file, Photoshop may ask to update text layers. Click Update to render the translated text with your fonts.
You can also translate Photoshop projects with our plugin — stay inside Photoshop and create translated copies automatically.
Keep text as editable layers. Rasterized or flattened text cannot be translated.
Premiere Pro (.prproj)
Translates all text layers in your sequences while preserving effects, keyframes,
and project structure. Upload .prproj files directly on the website.
Premiere Pro project files are gzip-compressed. The translated file preserves the exact same format and opens normally in Premiere Pro.
After Effects
After Effects projects are translated through our plugin. The plugin reads your text layers — including keyframed source text — sends them to aptura.io, and syncs translations back. Formatting, keyframes, and effects are preserved.
After Effects projects (
.aep) cannot be uploaded as files. Use the plugin instead.
PowerPoint (.pptx)
Translates all text boxes, shapes with text, table cells, chart labels, and speaker notes while preserving slide layouts, animations, transitions, charts, SmartArt, and master slides.
Embedded images containing text are not translated.
Word (.docx)
Translates paragraph text, headings, table cells, text boxes, headers, and footers while preserving formatting, styles, tables, and track changes.
Excel (.xlsx)
Translates text in cells, headers, and chart labels across all sheets while preserving formulas, formatting, charts, and cell styles. Formulas remain intact — only the display text is translated.
Rich text formatting (bold, italic, different fonts within a single cell) is preserved in the translation.
SVG (.svg)
Translates all <text> and <tspan> elements while preserving vector paths,
gradients, transforms, and styling.
Text converted to paths cannot be translated. Keep text as text elements.
Plugins
Both the After Effects and Photoshop plugins follow the same workflow: push your project to aptura.io, translate on the web, and sync or export the results back. See Plugins for installation and usage.
